Freelance branding, marketing and retail graphic designer

About

Hello! I’m Rachel.

I’m a Freelance Senior Graphic Designer, with 15 years experience across digital, social, motion and print, specialising in branding and marketing.

I help brands communicate with clarity, meaning and integrity through creative and strategy.

I look for collaborations with conscious, purpose-driven clients who have the passion to make change in the world. Beautifully crafted and responsible design with meaningful impact or ethical roots is what gets me out of bed in the morning!

I love problem solving, taking complex and multi-faceted briefs and distilling them into their core questions; I capture client needs and transform them into visually compelling design answers that engage audiences. I look beyond aesthetics and ensure all my creative solutions are also rooted in strong brand strategy; my approach always involves a deep-dive into the ‘why’.

Constantly immersed in current design culture, music, politics and societal concerns; I hold deep personal values to live as sustainably and ethically as possible, which is reflected in my design practice. Proudly vegan, fiercely feminist, I have been a design mentor via Kerning the Gap and Futures:Generation; it is my belief that we must actively fight against gender, racial and sexual identity bias in the creative industries and in the wider workplace.

After design, my other great love is snowboarding - I spent 3 seasons in Morzine, France and still spend a lot of my winters there. I have a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a strong connection to nature and the mountains. Climate change threatens every facet of our lives but the effects are already being felt; please read more at protectourwinters.uk.

My proudest career achievement so far was writing and illustrating a 128-page cookbook, ‘Cook’s Coloring Book’ which was published in the U.S. and worldwide.
