This is a trend that I hope doesn’t go away too soon; Fashion design collaborations with stationery manufacturers. Some of you may know I have a bit of a stationery fetish; nothing like a crisp new sketchbook or a virgin rollerball pen. Mmmm.

Marc Jacobs for Moleskine:

Everyone loves a moleskin – I certainly do. But they do seem to always be quite plain – I always end up sticking stickers and things on mine. So imagine my delight when I saw, of all people, Marc Jacobs collaborating with them! Amazing. I love the understated, doodle effect and the hand drawn feeling. Nom nom nom. Can I have one please? $29.95 from Barney’s in America – bet the shipping is horrendous. Humph.

Limited Edition Eley Kishimoto Fabric Print Journals:

Noble Macmillan and Eley Kishimoto have teamed up on this fabulous set of journals that is set to be this Christmas’s perfect present – yes please! At £69 each they’re a tad expensive for anyone I know, but oh to open this on Christmas Day… so lovely.

Hand bound in the UK in a range of Eley Kishimoto’s beautiful archive prints, the journal is made up of 3 sections; plain, lined, squared pages. Each has 2 colourful ribbon markers, rounded corners and comes in a manila presentation box.

Sounds perfect to me. I love notebooks that have a combination of all the different types of pages; especially graph paper, oh my, definitely my favourite. Sigh.

Holly Fulton for Smythson of Bond Street:

Smythson have collaborated with award-winning Scottish designer, Holly Fulton, to design a capsule collection of limited edition notebooks, 2011 diaries and stationery. Showcasing Fulton’s deco-inspired symmetrical illustrations and featuring her favourite colour combinations of black with yellow and pale aqua, the collection comprises three diaries, two notebooks and six correspondence card designs, with all books and diaries lined in black and white printed silk from the designer’s autumn/winter ’10 collection.

Oh, I want them so much. So beautiful! Prices range from £50 to £225 – not cheap, but the attention to detail is amazing and would be cherised forever.

That’s the thing about these collaborations; the results are beautiful but I’d be far too scared to ever use them! I have enough trouble with getting started in Notebooks from Paperchase to be honest… so I don’t think I’d fair too well with one that was £225. But they are basically works of art; it would just be lovely to own one!
