Just spotted this on the @Motelrocks website and love the concept. Motel have decided to do a Vintage range with a difference – firstly, (and quite rightly) there is only one of each garment – they are motel modern shapes, but in reclaimed and reused old vintage fabrics. Secondly, the prices don’t stay static – they keep falling! It’s extremely clever because it taps into that head vs heart mentality we all get when spotting something shopping; get it now before its gone even if a) you’ve got nothing to wear it with or b) you’ve got no money because you know it’s unique – a rare thing to find on the high street these days, unless you shop exclusively in vintage and charity shops! It means it’s fairly eco friendly too… reusing fabrics means there’s no demand for virgin fabrics, the manufacture (and growing of, if it’s natural) of which creates a HUGE energy and water drain.

So what do you do? There’s some good stuff on there, all with some rather lovely fabrics (I’d love to know where they sourced them from) including this amazing dress:

Which is currently (but maybe not for long…) £25, and this

really cute crop top with some kind of mental abstract monochrome print is an uber cheap £17! How long can they go?

There’s one that I reeeaally want, in the past couple of days its gone down by £2 already so I may wait it out… but what if someone buys it! Dun dun dun. Some would say ‘ah it was meant to be’ but some would say ‘damn. That would’ve been so good.’

So go check it out.. it’s a very interesting idea. My Motel Celia Peacock dress turned up yesterday so I might do an outfit post about it later… It’s really rather good.
